MENINGKATKAN SOFT SKILL SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPS MELALUI PENERAPAN MODEL KOOPERATIF TIPE STAD

Dari hasil pembelajaran pendahuluan yang dilakukan penulis pada bulan Agustus 2020 di kelas IX G SMP Negeri 1 Ciawigebang pada mata pelajaran IPS ditemukan permasalahan yaitu rendahnya soft skill siswa, hal ini disebabkan oleh:     1) Siswa kurang antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran; 2) Siswa kurang  memahami materi pelajaran; 3) Metode pembelajaran yang digunakan kurang menarik perhatian siswa; dan  4) Hasil evaluasi siswa yang mencapai KKM kurang dari 50%;  Tujuan utama penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah untuk: 1) Mengetahui gambaran penerapan model kooperatif tipe STAD untuk meningkatkan soft skill siswa;                2) Meningkatkan soft skill siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS melalui penerapan model kooperatif tipe STAD. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX G yang berjumlah 36 orang, terdiri dari 15 laki-laki dan 21 perempuan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Dari hasil penelitian tindakan kelas di Kelas IX G SMP Negeri 1 Ciawigebang melalui penerapan model kooperatif tipe STAD yang diupayakan melalui pembelajaran selama 2 siklus, dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: 1) Penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD untuk meningkatkan soft skill siswa dilakukan dengan cara membentuk kelompok belajar yang memiliki kemampuan heterogen. 2) Soft skill siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di kelas IX G meningkat setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Hal ini terbukti dengan pencapaian siswa sebagai berikut: rata-rata kelas adalah 82, skor tertinggi siswa adalah 100, skor terendah adalah 60, dan siswa yang mencapai KKM sebanyak 31 (86%) orang. Berdasarkan temuan dari penelitian tindakan kelas pada pembelajaran IPS siklus I dan siklus II penulis menyampaikan beberapa saran sebagai berikut: 1) Guru hendaknya memanfaatkan lingkungan sebagai sumber pembelajaran; 2) Guru hendaknya melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. 3) Guru hendaknya melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran.

ABSTRACT

From the results of the preliminary study conducted by the author in August 2020 in class IX G of SMP Negeri 1 Ciawigebang in the social studies subject, a problem was found, namely the low soft skills of students, this was caused by: 1) Students were not enthusiastic in participating in learning; 2) Students do not understand the subject matter; 3) The learning method used is less attractive to students; and 4) Evaluation results of students who achieve KKM less than 50%; The main objectives of this classroom action research are to: 1) Know the description of the application of the STAD type cooperative model to improve students' soft skills; 2) Improving students' soft skills in social studies subjects through the application of the STAD type cooperative model. The research subjects were 36 students of class IX G, consisting of 15 boys and 21 girls. The method used is a class action research method. From the results of classroom action research in Class IX G of SMP Negeri 1 Ciawigebang through the application of the STAD type cooperative model which is pursued through learning for 2 cycles, it can be concluded as follows: 1) The application of the STAD type cooperative learning model to improve students' soft skills is carried out by forming groups students who have heterogeneous abilities. 2) The students' soft skills in social studies learning in class IX G increased after applying the STAD type cooperative learning model. This is evidenced by the student achievement as follows: the class average is 81, the highest student score is 100, the lowest score is 60, and students who achieve KKM are 31 (86%) people. Based on the findings from classroom action research on social studies learning cycle I and cycle II, the authors make the following suggestions: 1) Teachers should utilize the environment as a learning resource; 2) Teachers should involve students actively in the learning process. 3) Teachers should involve students actively in the learning process.
