MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPS MELALUI PENERAPAN MODEL KOOPERATIF TIPE THINK-PAIR-SHARE
Abstract
This research was motivated by students' lack of understanding of the substance of the material starting from definitions, understanding concepts and their application in everyday life. In this context, student teachers are less involved in the learning process so that students are less active and tend to just play in the learning process. The main objective of this classroom action research is to determine the cooperative learning process of the Think-Pair-Share type in increasing students' understanding in social studies learning in Class VIII H of SMP Negeri 1 Ciawigebang for the 2020/2021 academic year. The subjects of this classroom action research are class VIII students H SMP Negeri 1 Ciawigebang for the 2020/2021 academic year, totaling 35 students, consisting of 17 female students and 18 male students. The method used is the classroom action research method. The results of this research show that students' understanding of social studies learning through the implementation of the TPS type cooperative model in class VIII H of SMP Negeri 1 Ciawigebang has increased. The increase in students' understanding is proven by the achievement of class average scores, where each improvement experiences a very drastic increase. The pre-cycle only achieved a class average score of 69 to 77, and the second cycle achieved a class average score of 81. Meanwhile, the lowest score achieved by students was 78 and the highest score was 90. Keywords: Student understanding, Think-Pair-Share type cooperative model
