Abstract

This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VII-B students in algebraic material through the application of a realistic mathematical approach. The subjects in this research were 31 students in class VII-B of SMP Negeri 2 Malangbong. Data collection techniques in this research include observation, interviews, tests and documentation. The application of a realistic mathematical approach is carried out in 2 cycles. The process of implementing Mathematics learning to improve student learning outcomes in algebra form material with a standard realistic mathematics approach in Class VII-B SMP Negeri 2 Malangbong obtained data that in the first cycle the average score was 74,03, in the second cycle it was 82,58. These results show that there is an increase in student learning outcomes, so it can be concluded that the application of a mathematical approach can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VII-B students in algebra form material.
