MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN DENGAN MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING DI SMP NEGERI 1 MANGUNJAYA TAHUN PELAJARAN 2021/2022

Abstract

The background of this research there is a problem of low students' mathematics achievement in class VIII F of SMP Negeri 1 Mangunjaya. The purpose of this research is to improve the mathematics learning achievement of class VIII students at SMP N 1 Mangunjaya through discovery learning models. This research is a Classroom Action Research which will be conducted in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 at SMP N 1 Mangunjaya, Pangandaran Regency with 30 students in class VIII F as subjects. The research was carried out in two cycles with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The results showed that the average student achievement in the first cycle was 69.27 while in the second cycle was 76.03. The percentage of classical completeness in cycle I was 56.67% while in cycle II it was 73.33%. This shows an increase in the average student mathematics learning achievement from cycle I to cycle II, which is equal to 6.76 and an increase in the percentage of classical completeness from cycle I to cycle II is 16.66%. From the results of the study it was concluded that the application of the discovery learning model could improve the mathematics learning achievements of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Mangunjaya.
